the dictatorship of the minority

Tuesday, May 31st, 2005

A “minority” of black people don’t like slavery and they are forcing their opinion on the majority of the white people who do. Dictatorship! Tyranny! Fascism! We need Hitler to protect us!

Apparantly supporting anything besides linux on x86 holds back free software and helps Microsoft.

I am mocking this guy but he really has a point. No one cars about Sparc, PA-RISC, the four or five obsolete workstations with Motorola chips, etc. One of the things that holds up Debian is the need to get everything to run on all of this crap.

x86, x86-64 and PPC are the way to go.

Dongles

Friday, May 27th, 2005

I bought this dongle:

Asus WL-167g USB2 WLAN interface

It has the new Ralink Technology chip, which is supported by OpenBSD’s new ral driver. I like their strategy of snapping up market share by selling cheaper and better documented chips than Broadcom and Intel.

I was fooling around with it last night but the hard disk failed in my test machine. What a pain in the ass. IBM Deathstar.

I am drinking

Alcohol is awesome. I feel like i am marginally dizzy. It is cool.

Later I’m going to look into this sex thing, that might be cool too.

Now that I think about it I need to finish installing openbsd 3.7

I have successfully moved this site from Hurricane Electric to Dreamhost. Dreamhost provides a lot more stuff and I am getting a bargain price thanks to a coupon code from IRC. Thanks Chris!

China never yields to outside pressure on yuan

Monday, May 16th, 2005

“BEIJING, May 16 (Xinhuanet) — Reform of RMB exchange rate system is matter of China’s sovereignty and any pressure and speculative exploitation of the issue or any attempt to turn the economic issue into a political one will not be conducive to resolving it, Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao said during his meeting with guests from the US Chamber of Commerce Monday.”

China is completely ROFL.

I’ve replaced my old site with Wordpress. The default theme is overused but adequate. Perhaps I will try to make one later.

I need to add a picture of hector to the front page somehow.

I wonder if bullguard antivirus can protect me from all the shitware i’m installing. It comes with kazaa so I’m sure it won’t remove anything that comes with Kazaa.
